Weingut Landauer is a typical Austrian family business from the wine town of Rust in Burgenland. Since 1650, the Landauer family has been making dry and sweet wines from grapes from vineyards right on Lake Neusiedlersee for generations. They do this 'naturnah': with great respect for nature, with minimal use of pesticides.
Country | Austria |

Terroir | The grapes are harvested from an ancient vineyard hill near Rust in Austria's Burgenland. The ground was formed over 16 million years as a coral reef from the primeval ocean that was located here at the time. The Chardonnay has been planted here for more than 100 years and has ideal conditions. The wine gets a full and mineral character from the shell, limestone, weathered slate and quartz in the ground. The grapes are harvested relatively late and have a fully ripe character. |

Vinification | The grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks. |
Impression | Mineral, with a fine structure. Mouth-filling and harmonious. Stone fruit and young tropical fruit of pineapple and guava. Fresh, expressive and slightly creamy. |

Did you know? | Austrian winemakers rarely age their Chardonnay in wood. They like to express the pure, unvarnished fruit of the grapes in the wine. Dat geldt ook voor wijnmaker Stefan Landauer. |
